AEEC was founded in 1994 out of the need to eliminate failures at, and to repair, test and rebuild, the power facilities of the oil and gas industry. Today we deliver engineering and consulting solutions for the energy, industry, infrastructure and public utility sectors.
Our success story
An engineering school born in a difficult time
AEEC's success story began during a period of severe trial for Azerbaijan's oil and gas sector, with identifying the problems that had arisen in SOCAR's power system and applying engineering solutions to them.
At a time of acute shortage of funding and investment, AEEC made an important contribution to improving the reliability of power facilities, eliminating failures, reducing technical losses and strengthening the resilience of power supply.
Later the company built its own school of engineering and consulting in the reconstruction of the power system, energy reforms, international advisory services, certification, accountability and human capital development.

Key milestones
A start in power engineering
The engineering firm “Mehri-2”: emergency, repair and testing services at power facilities.
Research and consulting
“RW Engineering and Consulting”: advice on planning, forecasting and energy reforms.
Merger
The two companies merge to form “Shems Energy” LLC.
AEEC LLC
In June the company is re-established under the name AEEC and expands in the public and private sectors.
Regional context
A Research and Training Centre is set up in Sumgait; entry into the Turkish and Central Asian markets.
